Alarms and Security

  • What to expect from your security system - Your security system consists of a number of components that have been selected because of their proven history of reliability and consistent performance. If any problems do arise, our systems are designed to alert the user by means of indicator lights and warning tones if things are not as they should be. Usually you will be able to refer to your user manual for an explanation of the warning indicators Many are minor, and do not compromise security. eg a temporary loss of power will present a warning tone. Occasional false or unexplained alarms, if any, should not exceed 1 - 2 in a 12 month period, so if you are experiencing more please contact dht to discuss service.

  • Suggested Maintenance for your Security System - Your security system has a built in standby battery that will support the alarm system during AC power failures. The recommended replacement period for this battery is between 3 - 5 years. This period will be shorter if there have been multiple blackouts during that time. It's usually a good opportunity to arrange a service call to check things over. Wireless devices such as key fobs, reed switches ,movement sensors etc will usually need battery replacements within 5 years. It is also recommended that you regularly test your alarm by allowing it to go into full (ie sirens and strobe activated.) alarm. NOTE: remember to advise our 24hr base station, if you are connected, prior to any tests.

  • Programmed Maintenance Service - If you prefer to let us worry about remembering to and maintaining your system, you can elect to join our programmed maintenance service and for a small annual fee we will provide service and regular maintenance to your system - discounts apply for bundled programmed maintenance.

Ducted            Vacuum

  • What to expect from your Ducted Vacuum system - Our ducted vacuum systems will give years of trouble free performance if cared for properly. Suction performance will be constant and tools and accessories are high quality. Avoid vacuuming liquids or moist sticky lollies and if you do vacuum something into the system that you feel may cause problems, try to let the machine run for a few minutes with the hose open to dry and clear the ducting system

  • Suggested Maintenance for your Ducted Vacuum system - The bin should be emptied within 6 months even if it is not full. For systems that use a disposable bag, we also recommend a bag change at every 6 mth period.Be careful to keep the area around your vacuum cleaner clear of any obstructions as restricted ventilation will result in shortened motor life expectancy.

  • Programmed Maintenance Service - If you prefer to let us worry about remembering to  and maintaining your system, you can elect to join our programmed maintenance service and for a small annual fee we will provide service and regular maintenance to your system - discounts apply for bundled programmed services. eg combine your security and vacuum into one programmed service call.
Digital Media
Server

  • What to expect from your Digital Multi Media Server - Your Digital Multi Media system uses  sophisticated PC (computer) based hardware. When dht introduced the media server to our range it was considered  'cutting edge' technology. ie at the forefront of what was to come, the evolution of multi media toward distribution and access via computer based IP technology. Our thinking at the time has proven to be correct with the progress of time and we now see a huge and growing range of IP based multi media systems. Although we select many different IP based devices these days, our original  media centres still stack up well against the latest technology and we are proud that although even 6 mths is a long time in electronic technology developments these early media centres have kept pace some years later. As they were at the cutting edge when released you may experience the occasional glitch  that comes with most new technology, but overall the power and rich feature set of the media centre has been well worth these minor hicups.

  • Suggested Maintenance for your Digital Media Server - Digital Media Server (DMS) are PC based and the type of maintenance that applies to all PCs applies to your DMS as well. eg make sure you keep up to date with housekeeping such as overfull disk drives. Delete unwanted files as required. Ensure excellent ventilation at all times, this is extremely important. Report any unusual fan noise or overheating that you become aware of.

  • Programmed Maintenance Service - If you prefer to let us worry about remembering to  and maintaining your system, you can elect to join our programmed maintenance service and for a small annual fee we will provide service and regular maintenance to your system - discounts apply for bundled programmed services. eg combine your security, vacuum and DMS into one regular programmed service call.
